Welcome to another blog of Boots and Oil
Feb 16, 2026; Update:
Another video, another without audio. I screwed up. Nothing to do but try again in the future.
Feb 10, 2026; Update:
A new video got made, but it doesn't have audio. Ease-mate wouldn't let me add credits so that I can attempt
to make a video with audio. So I keep the video, and placed it on the list in the older version of this
page. You can access it on the main page, and scroll on down to the dirt road section. Click on the
buttons, and you will find the new video mixed in with the older ones. This may be the best I can do
on the free Ease-mate page because they wouldn't let me add credits so that I can add audio. Bummer.
Feb 7, 2026; Update:
Yet another. That makes 3 videos for this month. Looks like that's going to be a limit.
As for the video, it most likely will need a paid subscription in order to add audio.
Archiving still doesn't exist for prior months. It may never exist.
Feb 6, 2026; Update:
Another video added to the calendar. There's going to have to be a way to play more than just one video per month.
Update for late in day: Done.
Feb 5, 2026; Update:
A video has been ai generated and posted on this blog. Click on the calendar button to see it. It has
no audio to go with it. Don't know how to do that yet. By the way, it isn't Grok AI. It's called Ease Mate.
Feb 4, 2026; Update:
Time to visit Canva again.
There are some interesting things on Canva. It may be possible to integrate these into my own blog.
The above video shows how to make a talking avatar in Canva. Cool! Ooops! The link won't work. YouTube objects.
This is a bit gauche, but here's the link: https://youtu.be/qlc10Z2oIWY?si=848N1CroiYEDIvKt
Feb 2, 2026; Update:
It's still possible to update here, by cracky. Rather than making a new pdf file, I'll add some updates right here. Call them
minor updates. The pdf files will be major updates (at least for now that convention will apply). Hints of a minor update will suffice
on the calendar itself. So, the one there today mentions a data update. That's what I've just finished. No pdf required...
Jan 22, 2026; Update:
I'll be dog-gone. I went and done it. It isn't ready to be installed yet, but it works. Maybe by tomorrow, but there's bad
weather blowing through, which may force me offline for a few days. I have to make plans for a situation that may occur here,
primarily a power-outage. If that occurs, no blogging for awhile.
Update a couple hrs later:
It's in! Just click on the date that contains 'link'. As for the weather, it may not
be as bad as originally forecasted. I'll keep my eye on it.
Jan. 21, Update:
There may be a solution yet. Not confirmed as yet, but it may be possible to update with links to pdf files within the calendar
or in some other fashion. Details are to be worked out. Hopefully, this isn't a dry run with no results. Technically speaking
it may be possible to use link objects, which can be manipulated with Javascript. I've already demonstrated that links can be
placed within a table ( used as a calendar), and those links can be to EXTERNAL websites. But what I intend is to link to internal
pdf files, which can be created and uploaded to the website. This can be much more to my liking.
There is a version of the calendar on the page now. It is being utilized to make posts. The trouble is, there doesn't appear to be
a way to display them in the web page. Secondly, there is no convenient way I know of to link to it. In the future, I may figure it out,
but for now there's no way.
But the calendar is up with links, nonetheless. The links demonstrate that it can be used to link to sites on the web.
It probably won't work on any pdf files on this directory, but I'll see about it.
That is all for now.
1/19/26:
There doesn't appear to be a way to do this. But I have done it with video files. It's relatively easy to do it with videos,
but not elegant. Elegance doesn't seem to go with this platform, alas.
The plan now is to do the same with pdf files as I did with videos. That is to say, I want to
display pdfs one at a time, and these pdfs will be my new blog posts. That's the idea.
However, there may be a problem with that. We will see.

I'm going to start importing a few tricks from the older blogs, and start to put up some content here.
The first thing on the docket is to put my database file up here. I wanted something to reference it all at
one time, as opposed to one record at a time. This is a separate file from the one my Python program works on,
so, it will have to be uploaded here whenever I wish to update this version.
Why make this blog? What is its purpose?
Just something for me to do, I suppose. More later once I figure out something.
Update:
This new blog cannot be constructed as the Blogger blogs. There's a limited amount of space to work with. Therefore, most of the content
will have to be imported in from files, which will be the new blog entries. At this point, I am debating whether or not to use pdf files, or
or videos. Videos would be harder to make, as it doesn't utilize my strengths. Actually, I'd have to put together a video editing regime,
which I don't like to entertain at the moment. It will be probably pdfs then.
An author of many blogs, including the long-running Boots and Oil Blog on Google's Blogger Platform. The Platform here is W3Schools, in which I am currently enrolled. This template is provided for, and I'm just filling in the blanks here. There's plenty more about me on the other blogs, so an lengthy intro really isn't necessary.
